About this job:

This job entitles everything that there is to making a video/film. I enjoy all aspects of making a film so I didn't want to make this on one part of the job. Video productions shows off all aspects from making the film, to editing, and writing. Having creative understanding is very helpful when making films because it can help you understand all aspects.

Why I want this job:

I want to do this job because I love all things about the production and I don'twant to limit myself. I enjoy making small films so I don't mind not doing bigger films. I like making ideas and making films I enjoy and that I make my ideas come to life.

Education requirements:

To be in video production you must have a bachelor's degree in performance arts, film production, or business administration.

Skills to have:

  • time management and organisational skills.

– To be able to make your film in a good timed fashion and be able to keep track of where you are and how far you need to be.

  • good communication and people skills.

– You will be working with so many different people so you need to be able to communicate with everyone openly.

  • creativity - for developing ideas and problem solving.

– When there is a roadblock you need to be able to find yourself around it and work with your team to help build a solution.

  • practical skills to use a range of technical equipment.

– You should know how to use every piece of equipment you're using, and alway be open to learn something new too.

  • good IT skills and to be familiar with digital editing software.

– know how to edit just in case you need to show something to your editors for a certain effect and look.

  • good hand-eye co-ordination.

– knowing how your hands and eyes work together is important so you can work fast without double and triple creaking you're doing something right.
