Dr. Swati Bute is working as an Assistant Professor for communications and Journalism and has completed nine years in academics. She has around 21 years experience in academics and in industry as a full time and part time employee. She teaches Health communication, Development communication, Global media scenario, Media culture and society, Applied research in media studies, Mass media industry and Broadcasting

A Ph.D. In communication and Journalism from University of Pune, her Ph.D research was on "Reporting Science and Technology in Print and Electronic Media". Her study was a Quantitative and Qualitative content analysis of two mainstream newspapers: The Hindu and The Times of India & four TV channels: Doordarshan, Aaj Tak, National Geographic Channel and Discovery

She did small duration Visiting Fellowship from "Institute of Defense Studies and Analysis, New Delhi, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Defense, GoI. Her fellowship topic was "Social media as a new tool for communication or an easy weapon for pseudo war: A case study of ethnic conflict in Assam in 2012, it was a empirical study

She was exclusively involved in research, training and teaching during her small tenure with National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI. She traveled in remote areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Nagaland, Tripura, Assam for impact studies, Monitoring National Health programs, workshops and for training of state level Government health officials. she was investigator and team member of four research studies, and participated in workshops and program monitoring as an resource person, facilitator, expert and team member. She also supervised PG dissertation and was a core member and member secretary of two committees for curriculum development of national level PG Diploma programs. At NIHFW she taught health communication to PG level program

She worked with Manibhai Desai Training Institute (BAIF), Pune and was a investigator of ethnographic study on "correlation between workload and food intake for malnutrition in tribal women of Surat District of Gujarat". This research projects was funded by Govt. of Canada. Her study area was seven tribal villages of Surat district, Gujarat. She also traveled in tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh as a part of this study and examined and observed rural life and set up of two States very closely.
