Edward Cascone
Educated in Fine Art studying at The School of Visual Arts, NYC, and inspired by Chuck Close, who was a professor of painting at that time. Working under prof. Close enabled Edward Cascone enhance his capabilities as an artist and proved to broaden his perspective of abstract impressionism.
Mr. Cascone has painted numerous portraits, nudes and landscapes. He became interested in Surrealism as well, but his desire to exlpore new painting techiques led him to airbrush art and finally to graphic design. He became deeply involved in photo-retouching, restoration and conservation of fine art. He worked as a conservator at Julious Lowey/Shar Sisto in Manhattan but remained commited to his craft in his free time.
Mr.Cascone traveled to Europe, and visited the cities of Paris, Lyon, Arles and Montpellier. His experience led him to appreciate impressionism and he began painting landscapes of Provance.
As years past Edward became involved with local art exhibits (1975 to the present) and has achieved a number of awards for his accomplishments.
Mr. Cascone returned to college enrolling at Dowling College in 2004. He graduated with his BA in English Literature in 2011 and has written his first novel that conerns the life and time of a young conscientious objector during the Viet Nam era. He has written a number of short stories that were published on campus and he served as layout editor for the collge paper while attending classes at night. During this time Edward has been performing as a sax musician with his wife and singer Charlene, playing at various dinner clubs and private occassions.
