Sarah JS Wilner

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I'm a marketing professor at one of Canada's best and biggest business schools.

My research interests include:

  • innovation
  • the product development process
  • design and design thinking
  • the implications of companies' interpretations of their consumers' needs and wants.
  • qualitative research methods
  • consumer culture

Most of my time is spent conducting research, but I also have the honour of teaching bright, engaged and enthusiastic students at every level: undergraduate, master's and PhD. I teach courses in brand management, consumer behaviour, product development and qualitative methods.

Before entering academia, I spent almost two decades working in the public sector. I have managed marketing and communications in a number of organizations in the US, and had the pleasure of leading several as executive director.
