Shinji Ricardo Yamane (山根 信二) is a researcher in the field of social implication of information and communication technology, especially in the digital game research and development practice. Currently an associate professor at Yasuda Women's University. Before Yasuda-U, Yamane worked for Okayama University of Science, Game System Design Lab from April 2014 to March 2020, Then IPUT Tokyo(International Professional University of Technology in Tokyo), Department of Digital Entertainment from April 2020 to March 2025.
Yamane's interests include game development, security engineering, and social aspects of computing. His papers are published in English and Japanese, or translated to Korean.

Yamane is a member of the Information Processing Society of Japan and co-authored papers awarded such as the Best Paper Award of the National Convention of IPSJ. He is also an individual member of the IEEE Computer Society and Higher Education Video Game Alliance. He co-authored Internet Ethics and some books in English and Japanese on the social aspect of computing. He is also a member of CPSR Japan chapter and IGDA Japan chapter.
