Shinji Ricardo Yamane (山根 信二) is a researcher in the field of soial implication of information and communication technology, especially in the digital game study and information security. Currently an associate professor at Okayama University of Science (岡山理科大学) Game System Design Lab, Yamane's interests include game development, security engineering, and social aspects of computing. His papers are published in English and Japanese, or translated to Korean.

Yamane is a member of Information Processing Society of Japan and co-authored papers awarded such as the Best Paper Award of the National Convention of IPSJ. He is also a individual member of IEEE Computer Society and Higher Education Video Game Alliance. He co-authored Internet Ethics and some books in English and Japanese on the social aspect of computing. He is also a member of CPSR Japan chapter and IGDA Japan chapter.
