Army brat by birth, writer by choice, Sybil McLain-Topel writes in Atlanta and rolls her r’s in France when she can. Literary journal Document published her essay Lavender No. 19 this spring, which also made the finals in the prestigious Agnes Scott College Writers' Festival Contest. She reviews books for Paste magazine.

Once a wire service reporter, her claim-to-fame interview remains A Pirate Looks at 40 with American singer and genre-creator Jimmy Buffett. She’son target to earn her MFA in Writing at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014.
