Hello, my name's Sydney an I'm energetic news reporter specializing in political
coverage and community outreach. In 2020 I found purpose in journalism. At that time the world was in a humanitarian crisis and information accessibility was questionable. As a student I knew I had a passion for research but I'm also activist; being involved with my community is very important to me. Before becoming a journalist I was fully invested as Molecular Biology major but felt I would make more of an impact within writing and providing the community with a friendly face in the world of science. As a new writer I have quickly learned how be fluid and concise within my storytelling.

Outside of work you can find me living the All-American PNW dream; I like to call it my big HBB: hiking, biking and baking. Growing up in a military family you don't really have a lot of time to settle down roots but hiking and biking are things you can do everywhere. Specifically in the PNW I've found the terrain to be particularly beautiful and it's actually given me time to practice my photo editing a photoshop. Also in my free time I enjoy curling up to a good sci-fi-fantasy novel or continuing my trek to complete watching the Star Wars movies; ask me about my favorite sometime.
