As project facilitator and scrum master for IBM M&C Lab, Sydney Markle is a servant leader to teams that are pioneering new digital marketing practices at IBM by
1.) Designing purposeful IBMer and client interactions that form a scalable system of engagement.
2.) Driving large improvements and business outcomes.
3.) Demonstrating new techniques in our practice areas, and new work methods in our teams, that drive these results.
In addition to her responsibilities as team facilitator, Sydney serves the M&C Lab as a:
- Location tour guide: To improve and enhance the understanding of M&C Lab capability and mission,Sydney provided tours to both internal and external parties who want to learn about the Lab's work methods and success.
- Strategic facilitator: To extend M&C Lab’s Agile practice and offer strategic planning, Sydney has lead groups through journey mapping, pragmatic personal development and scrum training in an effort to transform relationships with key stakeholders at CHQ, in the business units, with CIO, in the geographies and with agency partners.
With an 18-year career background in the high-tech industry developing content and employee communications, Sydney came to IBM as a contractor in 2002. As a contractor for the company, she developed copy for ibm.com across every industry and helped build interactive assessment tools. Prior to working with IBM, Sydney worked with several high-tech companies such as Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Dell, IBM PSG, and EDS. She's been responsible for a range of projects from employee communications to web design to content development. Sydney's education was in pubic relations at the University of Texas, Austin, where she graduated with bachelor of journalism in 1998. Her skills include content strategy, writing, project management, facilitation, team building, HTML, graphic design and search engine optimization.
