I'm not as clever as my favorite bloggers, thus my blog name simply states three of my big loves in life: miles (both miles run and miles traveled), pints (unpopular opinion: Shipyard Pumpkin should be available all year), and medals (I'm a big ol' medal whore. I love 'em. Gimme more).

A few things to know about me...

1) I (mostly) love running. It's a new-love for me (going on a little over a year - celebrated that with my first marathon in October 2014! More on that later.) And while mostly, it's a rewarding, uplifting positive hobby in my life, I have plenty of "I hate running" moments, and unlike some of my favorite bloggers, I am not afraid to share that. For example, I am great at the whole faceplant-during-running thing. I dabbled in a few (ok, so like 3) 5ks and 8ks prior to 2013. 2013 I decided to jump feet-first into a half-marathon and have been hooked ever since. I am currently 25, going to turn 26 May of 2015. While I have a lot of running goals in general, the big goal is to earn a BQ before 30.

3) I'm a Chicago-gal living in Boston. Chicago will always be the best city in the entire universe. Yes, the entire universe. But I will say: I do REALLY love Boston. A lot. But you sure can't beat that Chitown skyline.

4) I love beer. I love wine too, and used to be a huge wino (pictures to prove it!), but beer has become my solid go-to of mine. Perhaps I love races so much is the celabratory beers post-miles...hmm...

5) My dream job would be to travel and drink wine and take lots of marvelous photos. I backpacked after graduating college and studied abroad in college and since then, it's my goal to travel somewhere new (international or not) every year. So far, I've kept good on that promise since graduating in '11. But until I figure out to do the travel/wine thing, I am an analyst for a business analyst for an insurance company.
