Listen to my music

Ever since I was young, I have been infatuated with music. My mom is a piano teacher, so I have been exposed to music my entire life. I was so fascinated by my mom’s mastery of the piano that I would go in our so called “music room” and sit next to her for hours while she played. Although I loved the piano, singing was what I really loved to do, so she would play song accompaniments while I would sing along. When I was around 7 years old, I went with my parents to an American Idol viewing party where I was immediately inspired and have dreamed of being on the show ever since. After having this realization, I would stand on the hood of my dad’s Honda Civic and practice my audition song of choice, “The Star Spangled Banner”, dreaming of winning American Idol one day.

As I grew older, I began learning more instruments to accompany my singing. I’ve always known how to play the piano, and now thanks to online youtube lessons, I can play the guitar and ukulele as well. As I’ve grown older and gained more experience, I like to think that I sound better than I did on the hood of that Honda Civic years ago. Although I haven’t made an appearance on American Idol (yet), I have performed at local venues, in parades, and led many sing-alongs with friends. Music is my outlet, my favorite pass-time, and what I love the most. As cliche as it sounds, it’s the only way I can truly express myself. I don’t think I will ever stop dreaming of getting that golden ticket and singing in Hollywood, so maybe one day you’ll see me on the audition episode, doing what I have always loved to do.
