As a working artist, Sydney Sparrow has been maintaining her own business since 2003. Studying painting at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire since September of 2010, Sydney Sparrow earned a place on the Dean's list in recognition of her artistic and educational accomplishments. Sydney Sparrow was recognized by the Spotlight on the Arts Awards in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, when she was named Outstanding Representational Artist of 2009. Recently, Sydney Sparrow's work was featured in the Contemporary American Realism exhibit at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Biennial, a juried exhibition. Sydney Sparrow is represented by The Banks Gallery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts, with work in the permanent collection of the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut. It has also appeared in several charitable auctions including one at the Florence Griswold Museum's Annual Benefit and the Crotched Mountain Foundation's Harvest Tasting Fundraiser. In addition to a number of group shows, pair shows, and solo shows, Sydney Sparrow's work has appeared in Provincetown Magazine, “Island Light – Isles of Shoals” and “Visions in Granite” from Blue Tree Publishing, American Art Collector magazine, and Artscope magazine. In the last few years, Sydney Sparrow paintings have been featured in group shows at Bowersock Gallery, Sharon Arts Center, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Cooley Gallery, Anderson-Soule Gallery, Elan Fine Arts in Rockport, Maine, and The Gallery at 100 Market Street. Sydney Sparrow has headlined three solo shows in the past five years: “Representing Real” at Bowersock Gallery, “Heart’s Desire” at Bowersock Gallery, and “Recent Paintings” at Elan Fine Arts.
