Syed Yaqeen

Syed Yaqeen is a Bangladeshi-born American documentary and editorial photographer based in New York City and Pennsylvania. His work explores community, faith, identity, and belonging through long-form visual storytelling and portraiture.

With more than 15 years of experience, Syed began his career in editorial and fashion photography before expanding his practice into documentary storytelling and nonprofit media. His work focuses on creating thoughtful, human-centered narratives that give people the space to be seen beyond stereotypes and simplified representations.

Syed is the founder of American Muslim Experience (AME), a nonprofit storytelling initiative that documents and preserves the diverse stories, voices, and everyday experiences of Muslims across the United States.

His work has been presented through exhibitions and public programs, including Photoville, and he continues to work on documentary projects, editorial assignments, portraits, and collaborations with organizations and communities across the United States.
