Ms. Sylviabay Kijangwa is a visionary emerging leader advocating for Women in Climate Action - Climate Education and Advocacy in Tanzania and East Africa. Founder and Project Lead of Women In Climate Initiative, an Environmental Conservation Initiative that aims to build women’s resilience facing climate change in Tanzania.

She is currently The Commonwealth Youth Council National Youth Delegate - Tanzania 2022/24, A member of Commonwealth Youth Climate Network, Ambassador for Climate Link- Africa and A Certified Climate Justice Champion- PACJA Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice 2022.

Ms. Sylvia is now the Project Officer: Communication and Advocacy at Africa Youth Transformation Tanzania. A Non-Governmental Organization that is a member of Pan Africa Climate Justice Alliance through Forum CC in Tanzania.

Moreover, her passion for Climate Justice emerged based on the loss and damage caused by Climate Change in her region. She has gained experience in Climate Justice through presentation in different national and international conferences, projects and workshops such as Africa Climate Week 2022 in Gabon. She has also been engaging herself in different activities demanding Climate Action example: Regional Africa Climate Talks in Mozambique, Matching of Africa Climate Torch in Gabon that aimed at mobilizing communities and galvanize Africa voices ahead of COP27 and other Pre-COP27 Dialogues in and outside Tanzania.

As a girl thriving to lead in Climate Action, Ms. Sylvia is devoted to be proactive change-maker in her community and the world at large focusing in addressing challenges and effects of Climate Change. She believes in SDG 13 which is Climate Action Goal and strongly believes that women have the voice that can bring action on Climate Justice for the better of the future generation.
