Scientists, meteorological experts, governments, and many other clever people keep telling us that the climate is warming, and this will have an adverse effect on the weather, and life in general. Although there are some skeptics to the science of climate change and global warming, over ninety nine percent of the world's experts on the subject agree with it. Even some scientific skeptics have now accepted that the evidence is pointing towards a difficult period for the human race. Over the years more of the public have accepted the truth, and more than ever, they now want to do their little bit to help the planet.
Wanting to do something to help save our planet is one thing, actually doing it is another. Some countries have brought in laws to ensure as much rubbish as possible gets recycled. Some may think it is just rubbish, but things like plastic are manufactured from oil derivatives, and release carbon gases when produced. So by recycling each plastic bottle, instead of throwing it away, a small saving on emissions is produced. Multiply that if millions of bottles are recycled, and it all adds up to a lot of gas.
When you mention greenhouse gases, most people usually think of coal, and that is the worst culprit. The world relies a lot on coal to produce electricity, but renewables now account for over ten percent of production around the planet, and this increases each year. Renewable includes solar and wind power. With the cost of technology coming down in recent years, installing solar hot water now makes economic sense. It is not a surprise to be driving around and seeing a number of homes with solar panels on the roof. For each home that uses renewable, the planet is helped that little bit more.
