Syntarus

Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Hello. I have a regular name, but I am known on the internet mostly as "Syntarus." This name is slightly altered off of that of a dinosaur.

I am creating this to tell you a little bit about myself assuming you have found my Wordpress account. If you have been there you know that I run a game centered blog.

This blog was originally created as a school project on blogger, but I moved it to wordpress after the class finished due to my preference for it's system.

I am a pretty average teenage boy. I get good grades in school, and spend much of my free time playing games or watching T.V. I am learning to speak Japanese through my high school, and am able to communicate somewhat effectively using it.

My favorite games are Monster Hunter, Metal Gear, Persona, and Disgaea, as they effected me each in different ways, although a few others, like Assassins Creed and Mass Effect would also be among my top choices simply because they were fun. My first gaming system was a Colecovision, on which I played games such as Donkey Kong and a Pac-Man ripoff. Eventually I got a PlayStation 1, and played the heck out of that thing. Finally, in 2009, I got a Wii. Hilariously enough, this was my first true adventure into the world of gaming.

I played through many Wii games, but none as much as Monster Hunter Tri. Clocking in at about 800 hours (33 days, not at once of course) over the course of two years, I was inspired to obtain a PSP, in order to play it's predecessor, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. This was rougly the time the PlayStation Vita was released.

This marked a new era in my gaming life. The first games I obtained were Freedom Unite and Disgaea. Freedom Unite was very difficult, but I managed to make to the top tier working solo. Disgaea was different. It had a decent story, with lovable characters and a dose of humor. It also prepared me for the grind of RPG's to come.

My PSP broke after about a year, and I was lucky enough to have the warranty replace it with a Vita. My first Vita game was Metal Gear Solid 3. The Metal Gear games have given me some serious things to think about over the years, as well as some of the most satisfying gameplay I've ever had. The stories reached me, and I found them very well written. However, my second true Vita game is what brought me into an entirely different type of game.

This was Persona 4 Golden. This game instantly drew me in with it's wide story, and it
