Synthia Shilling

Edgewater, MD

Throughout her career as an attorney, Synthia Shilling has dedicated herself to community service and charitable giving. A regular volunteer with the PTA and Girl Scouts of America, she currently volunteers her time with organizations such as Clothes Closet as well as local homeless shelters. Synthia Shilling also utilizes her many years of legal experience to serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the foster care system.

Aside from her charitable activities, Synthia Shilling enjoys reading and participating in her book club in her free time. A former English major at the University of Maryland, she counts American and English novels among her favorites. She also likes to practice yoga and takes advantage of every opportunity to travel to historic sites throughout the world.

Since 2013, Ms. Shilling has worked as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she earned federal certification as an EEO Counselor and Investigator.
