T.J. Carter

Hi! I’m T.J. Carter. After completing my Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of West Florida in 2007, I moved to Tallahassee to begin a career in corporate recruiting. I had never considered recruiting as a career until hearing about Aerotek from a friend. I knew I wanted to be in a position that involved a lot of interaction with others, and sales had always been of interest to me. The B2B consulting side of recruiting sounded great, as did having the opportunity to help people find jobs that they were well-suited for. Long story short, I accepted the offer and quickly learned that I had found my passion and professional calling.

Aerotek provided the foundation that have shaped my career so far. The lessons I learned about professionalism, work-ethic, active listening, identifying and solving problems, and inspiring others have made me the person I am today. I also learned how to effectively build Talent Acquisition strategies that fit the unique needs of clients, and best practices to source, screen, and close active and passive candidates alike. There were two things missing in my career that led me to make a change. First, I wanted to return to Pensacola, a place I loved and the place my family resided around. Second, I wanted to find a single company looking to grow that aligned with my values, and work exclusively for that organization to attract and retain top-notch employees. I am so grateful I was able to achieve both of those goals in a single decision: To accept an offer as a Recruiter at Navy Federal Credit Union.

I have remained a Recruiter at Navy Federal since 2012, and have worked with several business units and countless candidates, many of whom are now my co-workers. Navy Federal is a great company to work for and one of the few companies that still provides growth and stability to sustain employees for their entire career. We have nearly doubled the size of our Pensacola campus since I came on board, and we're not even half way to our current goal of having 10,000+ employees at our Greater Pensacola campus.
