End of semester update:

Throughout this semester I learned how to create a cover letter and resume, different ways of communicating in business settings, such as memos or e-mails, as well as how to start an organization to help the community. All of these are skills that will translate into the professional world once I leave school.

My name is Tyler Reed. I am a student currently living in Athens, Georgia. I am currently in my 5th year at the University of Georgia, where I am studying computer science. I chose to attend the University of Georgia because I have been a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs since I was really young and it is a very prestigious university.

I have always had an interest in sports, and I played baseball growing up all the way through high school. I am also a very big football fan, which is why I've been following Georgia Bulldogs football since I was young.

After I graduate I would like to work with software, either as a computer programmer or a software engineer. I have always enjoyed being around computers, and using math and logic, so I think I will enjoy that as a career.

The ability to recognize an informal situation versus a formal situation is something that can drastically effect the outcome of a situation.

Once the distinction is made of whether communication is formal or not, then the method of communication becomes important. I have learned about the different types of messages that can be used in business and in which situations each one should be used. Adhering to the standards of these forms of communications are very crucial because conforming to these can increase the efficacy of communications.

Building on forms of written communication, I have also learned different ways in which visual communications can be effective. Using graphs and charts can make it much easier for people to understand harder concepts that aren't
