GLENN DOBSON
I am now enjoying retired life
I am Ex-Navy Submariner (SSBN 632 Von Steuben).
I have worked in one form or the other in the telecom industry since 1980. This is my job as well as my hobby. I thrive in a high pressure, high visibility environment, I want the hard problems...
I started with TRW Aerospace tuning space-flight hardware in a NASA clean room environment, moved on to digital microwave radio testing in a research lab. I continued to work for TRW with the Air force/Army DISA contracts to deploy, install and test these radios across Europe for the next 10 years. I worked two more years for TRW in Washington DC on FAA contracts as a Task Manager for the Digital Voice Recorders Program for the airport control towers. I left TRW and moved to MCI, which later became Verizon. From here, I have been providing technical support for customers covering a wide range of today's telecommunications products. As a account team member for large enterprise customers, I provided a customer facing contact for all post sales issues. I worked with the customer from tech to C-Level.
Experienced with the following global voice/data services; Optical, Ethernet, IP, PIP, ATM, Frame, P2P, VPN, DS3, T1/DS0 and SATCOM. Internet, Internet access and peering. Provided support for global voice services; DID, dial plans, SS7, ISDN, Dedicated DS3/T1s, Toll-Free (TF), TF routing, International TF, call-centers and Web-Center support. Local Services/Last mile access, coordinating with global customers and regional telecommunication companies worldwide.
I am ITILv3 certified
I served as an advisor for 2 years on U.S. Congressman Adam Smith Technology Council (2009-2010), and with the MCI power-up program, I regularly traveled to Washington DC to lobby on Telcom issues of the day.
I am currently available for consulting services as needed.
