Tabitha Raquel is a native Nashvillian that continues to reside in the Nashville area. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University and a Masters degree from University of TN Knoxville. In order to give back to the community, she serves on the TSU Wesley Foundation Board; where she holds the position of Vice President as well as Program Chair. Along with her team diligently plans the annual Living Legends celebration that recognizes the special work that people have done in the Nashville community. Tabitha is the current President of BMCR (Black Methodist for Church Renewal) in the Tennessee Conference and served on the Bishop’s action & advocacy panel at the 48th general meeting in Orlando, FL to discuss the future of the state of the black church. She has also served on boards with Fifty Forward and MediEmployment Services, Empowerment, Inc, newly appointed board member to All About Women; is a member of CMSA, Mid-Cumberland Council of Health Care SW, holds the office of recording secretary with the Nashville Fisk Club; participated in Belmont Executive Learning and was nominated for NELA (Nashville Emerging Leader Award).
Tabitha has received many awards and certificates for active involvement in health care leadership in the Nashville area and has an overall passion for helping others in need. She partnered with CAP (Community Alliance Partnership) to serve students in an afterschool program in order to address violence in the neighborhood. Currently, she is the COO for Music City Cleaners in the historic Germantown area that is recognized as one of the best places to live in the city. Tabitha launched a growing project management company in 2017 and has maintained positive client relations in the Nashville community and beyond. In addition; serves as Executive Director for the Fortitude Group; which is a non-profit organization that serves veterans/mental ill clients that need housing. Gordon Memorial UMC has been her church home since birth, where she has been an active member serving in various leadership roles; most recently starting an outreach program partnering with Jere Baxter Middle called “girl talk” that focuses on building bonds with 7th grade girls. Tabitha is a writer for the UMC; with works published in the inaugural issue of By Faith Magazine.
