James Tack

James Tack grew up in Daventry where the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust nurtured his talent and flair for music from a young age. James is mainly a Bass guitarist / Percussionist who has played in many different genres from Orchestral extracts to contemporary pop music.
James is a multi-Instrumentalist playing the Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Percussion, Piano, Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone and Drums. He is currently playing for Singer songwriters but mainly a bass guitarist in band called ‘Room 6’ where he shows his talent for songwriting along side with the other members of the band. As a band they are currently writing and recording to release their EP in January 2015. Regarding the EP James has helped record all the song on Pro tools and which will be sent off to Air Studios to be mastered very soon.
James is also part of a Jazz Quartet which soon will be playing weekly at the Imperial College of London which will help him rebuild skills from when he was younger.
Since James Started playing Music he has been apart of Northamptonshire County Youth Orchestra and the Northamptonshire County Youth Concert Band where he played percussion for them for 3 years. In James’ final year of playing with them they both got invited to perform in The School’s Prom at The Royal Albert Hall in 2011. With Bass guitar James has played at the Birmingham symphony hall with a Big Band he played for where they got Platinum award for best Big Band that day. In addition to his experience, James has also played bass in the ‘pit’ band for productions of Fame, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and for Carmen for different school Production
James now lives in London, continuing his musical Passion at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), towards a BMus Hons degree in Popular Music Performance, with the bass guitar as specialist study.
James is an exceptionally versatile musician and performer who can turn his hand to most aspects of the industry, whether that be live/studio session work, work in musical theatre as a musician or composing to a brief.
