Nigel E. Taffe

Welcome to my page. I live in the Baltimore County area. I am a trained Educator with over a decade of combined teaching experience in two countries.

One of my favorite hobbies is computer technology. Using the training and skills learnt from several computer applications courses , I formed and operated a company-building custom computer systems, developed computer literacy training programs for low income earners in two rural communities (Jamaica), conducted staff development and training and provided desktop support for individuals.

In addition, I enjoy architectural work. In 2010, I prepared building plans for and managed the construction of a 924 square foot addition to a dwelling house. Working on that project was very exhilerating-it kept me thinking about how to make different aspects of the project better. It gave me the opportunity to learn from the tradesmen, to consult with them especially outside of regular working hours and coordinate our efforts to overcome the challenges that presented themselves.

People who know me well will testify that I have a natural talent for conceptualizing fresh and innovative ideas and is not afraid to execute them, even when challenged by unfavorable circumstances. I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself. Recently, I started taking free online courses being offered through Havard and MIT by Edx.org.

I am very passionate about staff development and project management. I work well under pressure, and pride myself in being tenacious, and resourceful and will stop at nothing to have a challenging situation resolved. I would love to work in a progressive environment that promotes personal growth and development that is mutually beneficial.
