Taha is an MD/MPH and the Founder & CEO of Child Awareness Project (CAP), an award-winning, youth-led nonprofit organization. She completed her Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University, Canada, in May 2019. She completed a Master of Public Health at Harvard University, on scholarship, in May 2020, where she was also elected as Vice-President of the Class of 2020.

She is a resident physician in pediatric neurology, in Boston.

She received the International Diana Award, in memory of the late Princess of Wales, & a Silver Medallion at the 2012 Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards, for founding CAP - formerly Search For Thamana.

Additionally, Taha has engaged in various other voluntary activities such as planning lessons and teaching English to Burmese refugee children. She headed a female health education project in a children’s home to promote menstrual hygiene and remove the stigma around it. She has also volunteered with Parkinson’s patients and fundraised and partaken in a health-screening & promotion project in an indigenous village. In Canada, she has participated in administering immunizations to Syrian newcomers at a refugee clinic in Nova Scotia.

In January 2016, She was appointed as a Global Youth Ambassador at A World at School. A movement that was launched in 2014 by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown. As part of her role, she has written to donor governments at the World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016, to urge them to increase funding for emergency education. She was also selected to represent the #SafeSchools campaign during the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York, in September 2016. She is also a Youth Selection committee member for the 2019 UN Solutions Summit.

Taha is the co-founder of Plan A, a peer-mentoring solution, in the works, that was was incubated at the Harvard Innovation Labs.
