Takafumi Mori

Takafumi Mori (born in Tokyo, Japan) began to play a piano at the age of 8.

After completing his bachelor degree with Katsumi Ueda at Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai) in Japan, he continued to study with Mikhail Olenev at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.

He completed a master degree at Rotterdam conservatory in Holland under the tutelage of Aquiles Delle Vigne with prestigious scholarship "Huygens Scholarship Programme". He graduated with a highest mark.

Takafumi gave numerous concerts in Japan, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Poland, Russia and the United States. In addition he appeared as a soloist on the broadcasting such as Radio4 (Holland) and Anttena2 (Portugal).

He took masterclasses from various great pianists such as Bela Siki, Lazlo Simon, Seymour Bernstein, Ferenc Kerek, Victor Lyadov, Pavel Nersessian, Aleksey Nasedkin, Jan Jiracek von Arnim, Gabriel Kwok, Olivier Gardon, Enrico Pace, Emanuel Krasovsky and Ronan O'hora.

Besides he received many prizes at national competitions included two first prizes, received prizes at international competitions such as the Special Composer's prize at the International Russian Music Competition (the United States), the third prize at the 2nd International Baltic Piano Competition (Poland) and the third prize at the IV Panama International Piano Competition (Panama) as a first Japanese pianist.

As a chamber music player, he was invited to the international chamber music festival and gave numerous concerts and received several prizes at international competitions (Italy).

Currently he is working as a concert pianist and a special piano teacher at Bangalore Institute of Music and Art and Aamod Centre of Liberal Arts, Bangalore India.
