Takeji Nakagawa

I am an artist loving wood. I know the wood deeply and express charm of the unknown wood for you. Using a special color to have of the wood, I make my work of the solid wood using the traditional skill called "Yosegi" "Mokuzougan".

I was born in Saitama, Japan and studied the woodwork in Musashino Art University. It is the university which can study one of the tip and every property of the wood from an traditional woodwork skill in Japan. I emigrated to Nagano after graduation and began artist activity with the small studio. Not only I make a work of art of the wood, but also design of the wood and teach younger students woodwork in Musashino Art University.

I make a better work every day to have many people feel charm of the wood to be.
