Welcome to Take Your Mark in Floral Park, NY. Where did our name originate? Our president, Colin McNamara, is a lifelong competitive swimmer. Just before the race starts, the official says, "Take Your Mark!" In other words, it is time to put all of our hard work and training into practice.

Here on Long Island we attribute our success to the mentality of committing to the long haul; being willing to work hard; learning from our failures; and taking the time to prepare, plan, and practice. As Geoffrey Colvin so aptly named his book, we we believe that talent is overrated. Sure, talent may be an element of exceptional performance, but more important is how well you practice and prepare.

To quote Will Smith, "I’ve always considered myself to be just average talent and what I have is a ridiculous insane obsessiveness for practice and preparation.”

We believe that practice doesn't make perfect; practice makes permanent. Only "perfect practice makes perfect." At Take Your Mark, we believe this is the key to greatness. It's about analyzing our results, learning from our mistakes, and having the courage to continue pushing forward. We apply this philosophy to everything we do.

How do we deliver top-notch, measurable results to our clients? By working with our staff, day in and day out, to be the best brand ambassadors they can be. This means daily brainstorming, practicing conversations, discussing how to overcome common challenges, and thoroughly preparing for anything and everything that's in our control.

What about our management training -- how do we ensure that our team members are always learning and advancing? The answer, as you likely guessed, is the same. We practice critical conversations, we role play interviewing, we plan our days in the office with precision... and so on!

At Take Your Mark, success is about consistency and trusting the process of preparation. In valuing the practice more than the competition itself, winning simply happens naturally!
