Talha Jalal

Washington, D.C.

I am a professional researcher with regional expertise in South Asia and MENA. I recently published my first book on architectural history called the Memoirs of The Badshahi Mosque (OUP, 2013). Previously, I have also edited a multi-volume concordance of the Masnavi of Rumi. I used to be an artist, but somehow lost the stamina to paint. Besides reading Persian literature and trying to find my way around Washington, D.C., I occasionally daydream about being a President, a famous painter, and a novelist—all in a day's work.
