Tamara Saliva

Tamara Grysel Saliva, was born in Brooklyn NY, and raised on the borders of Harlem and Washington Heights. To escape the home of her abusive childhood she found herself only minutes away from the apartment her parents lived in the day she was born. In an attempt to find herself she later traveled along the U.S. stopping in at a few cities. Tamara has found her way back home to Brooklyn, NY. Where her writing has received its wings and has begun to take flight. Her poetry has been published in the Hunter College Centro, Center for Puerto Rican studies online magazine; Letras. She has been featured in numerous poetry showcases, including The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and Teaming with Summer Youth affiliates to bring spoken word to some of our inner city youth. Tamara’s powerful words have made a name for her in New York’s infamous poetry scene. Poetry has been the voice of her pain for as long as she could remember, allowing her to create her poetic journal called Blue Vein Pages.
