Tamara Milligan

Pacific North West

Two years ago I began a medical hiatus in order to assure myself of a life after any future elimination. I left a law practice and judicial robe in the rear view mirror to concentrate on getting well. My body, mind and spirit had run on fast forward for so long, I was falling apart - physically, mentally and spiritually. While the physical prognosis is less than desirable, I am certain I have healed my mind and spirit in order to handle the progression of my condition with grace and acceptThe courtroom no longer beckons me. I came, I saw, I changed some lives for the better. Really, that is all I ever wanted to do - create a legacy that bettered the lives of my fellow man or, in this case, child. The law had become ugly to me. Tainted and jaded by small town politics that stepped back and allowed the nurturing of flawed, dangerous egos to take precedent over honor and integrity. Grays Harbor County, Washington. Home to (DIS)honorable judges and an (UN)just legal system. My integrity is worth more than a title, and you, sirs, should all be ashamed of yourself.*

It is time to nurture my true calling - that of writer.

“One’s options in this world are as vast as the horizon, which is technically a circle and thus infinitely broad. Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They’re part of the same journey — our story.”
