I graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE) with an MSc in Architecture. As part of my continuing professional development I studied at prestigious postgraduate schools in Budapest and obtained a Doctoral Degree at the Postgraduate (DLA) Doctoral School of BUTE and another postgraduate degree at the Master School of Association of Master Architects. I have visited and researched various international projects. I also attended the Faculty of Architecture in Rome, Italy. As a result of winning the first prize at the Corvin urban revitalization competition I visited Harvard Graduate School of Design in Boston, USA.
I have participated successfully in different architecture design competitions and I have been awarded prizes several times. From these award winning nominations I consider the two most important the “Young Architect of the Year Award” (I. prize, 2007) and the “Budapest Architectural Award” that I received for the conversion of a protected building in the city center of Budapest (Hotel Parlament project, 2006). Over the past 14 years I have gained experience in residential, hotel, office, commercial projects and urban design. I worked in collaboration with many international developers, designers and architectural studios from mainly the UK, Spain and Italy. In 2007 I set up my own practice, Niczki Architecture Studio and the following year I co-founded STOA Studio after winning the Károly István City Center international competition.
In 2014 I won the HAESF Senior Leaders Fellowship Award and I was invited to work as a Senior Architect at Perkins+Will, New York office to conduct my proposed project entitled, Practical Architecture Design with a Special Focus on Sustainability.
In addition to working as a Senior Design Architect, I have a strong theoretical background through my work as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture. I have written a chapter in an architectural theory book and I have also published several articles on international trends and buildings in different architectural journals. In the last two years I have also actively participated in my Department’s research project where my research fields were Sustainable Design, Multi-Housing, and Comprehensive Planning.
