Tam May
Writer in Texas
I was born in 1970 and started writing when I was 14 because I had no voice. When I was 16, I found a slim volume of character studies and short stories by Anais Nin called "Under A Glass Bell" and it completely changed my thinking of what fiction is and what it can do.
I write contemporary fiction that explores what Nin refers to as "psychological reality" (the reality as we experience it informed by our past and present, our emotions, daydreams, imagination, and experiences). The way in which my characters experienced their past informs much of my writing and their struggle with their demons. Emotional realities for me are as important, if not more, than physical realities.
