Tammy Sachs

Tammy Sachs is the CEO & Founder at Sachs Insights, a strategic research consultancy. Sachs Insights research drives innovation in product and web development. We utilize ethnography, user experience research, focus groups and other qualitative methods to uncover insights among consumers and professionals to support marketers and product development. Sachs Insights has a global presence with offices in NYC and Hong Kong. Sachs Insights clients range from startups to Fortune 1000 companies in a wide range of industries including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, financial services, retail, food and beverage, travel, media and technology. Clients include Aetna, Audible, Best Buy, Electrolux, Intercontinental Hotels, JPMorganChase, Google, Genentech, IBM, Bank of America, Capitol One, Merck, MLB, Nike, Pfizer, Prudential, R/GA, Samsung, Starwood Hotels, Verizon, Wiley and Wolters Kluwer.

Tammy is also currently an Instructor at Rutgers University, teaching UX Research -- from Co-Creation Focus Groups and Ethnography through User Experience Testing for the Mini-Masters and Advanced UXD Course. In addition, to Tammy’s role at Sachs Insights and work as a professor she is a board member and officer of the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City.

Prior to founding Sachs Insights, Tammy was Assistant Vice President at Citicorp, collaborating on the research and design of online banking. Having worked with pioneers in interactive design, Tammy was inspired to build the first independent Customer Experience Lab at Sachs Insights – where participants assess the appeal and usability of websites, mobile applications, kiosks and games. Tammy co-authored a book capturing her philosophy toward user experience (Back to the User, 2002, New Rider Press). Prior to Citibank, Tammy worked at Ogilvy & Mather as a Planning and Research Supervisor.
