Consultant and Public Speaker in Singapore
Career and Recruitment – something I have been involved in over the past decade. Currently, I’m running my career coaching business focusing on helping mid-career PME on career discovery and career transition.
Before starting CareerLadder, I co-founded two recruitment businesses. While the second one was a disaster, I’m proud to have grown my first business from nothing to a recognized leader in the field. It led to two consecutive HR Vendors of the Year award in 2013 and 2014. Along the way I also received the Leading HR Entrepreneur of the Year award by SHRI.
I also stood as the President of the trade association for professional recruitment agencies in Singapore and led the rebranding of the dormant association and reinvigorated our relationship with the government bodies.
My extensive experience in these areas led me to regular contribution of my thoughts on career, recruitment, entrepreneurship and productivity that were published on Singapore Business Review, HRinAsia, job boards, major newspaper and my personal blog (http://adriantan.com.sg). All the writing endeavors led to a career guide book which I co-authored ‘Everything You Wish To Ask a Headhunter’.
It is supposed to be the book we would sell millions of copies and finance our early retirement. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. But it became a calling card to many career trainings which I have conducted via amazing clients such as e2i, CaliberLink, SIM, PSB, ITE and MDIS.
Conducting career trainings also opened up opportunities for me to speak at events. I have since spoken at Singapore HR Congress, Sourcing Summit, Staffing Industry Analyst Asia and PME Learning and Networking Fair by WDA. I am also featured as one of the twelve Asian CEOs profiled in the book titled, ‘INSPIRIT – How Asian CEOs Inspire Action From The Stage’ by Benjamin Loh (http://inspiritbook.com/).
