A Mother Who Works

Taneshia Nash Laird is a tri-sector leader with experience and expertise across the public, private, and social sectors. She's an expert in the intersection of the arts and community development and uses her platform as a thought leader to promote positive change and create opportunities for underrepresented communities.

Taneshia publishes the online newsletter Arts for Economic Development, which provides insights on how communities can leverage the arts to drive economic growth, social progress, and community development.

As a creative, she co-authored the critically acclaimed book “Still I Rise: A Graphic History of African Americans” and has co-produced two films “Battle Sounds: A Hop Hop DJ Documentary” and a recent adaptation of Richard Wesley’s classic play “Black Terror” which was initially produced for the stage by Joseph Papp in 1971.
