Tanya Brown is a surface and textile patternista living happily by the sea on Long Island in New York. She lives with her husband, Chris and is a new mom to the sweetest baby girl, Heidi. She holds an A.A.S. degree in Surface and Textile Design from Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and a Masters degree in Education from Long Island University. Tanya designs under the name Schatzi Brown. The word “Schatzi” is a German term of endearment, like sweetheart in English, and is a nicknamed bestowed upon her, by her husband. She is endlessly inspired by her many travels, global cultures, colors, and nature. She loves working with watercolors, inks, and markers. When not designing, she can be found hanging out in nature at the beach, biking, running, or surfing!
