Hey there, I’m Tanya! I'm a student at the University of Guelph; majoring in Biological Sciences, minoring in English. My dream is to pursue scientific writing, working for a major medical journal.

My professional career is just beginning, but my desire to spreading information for the benefit of the public has grown into my ideal career. To figure out my path, I combined all my passions: studying medical treatments, writing formal and informal short papers, and giving back to the world around me. I spend my time planning short stories to refine my writing skills, working in camps to get first-hand knowledge of how children communicate, and reading new papers to discuss with my family when illnesses are mentioned. I hope to contribute largely to the global community, translating hard-to-digest scientific papers for the general public, and allowing a larger population to access new treatment options that are being discovered every day.

I think my dream was always within me. I would constantly ask questions, trying to understand the why, I would tell anyone and everyone what I was learning, and I gravitated towards opportunities that allowed me to work with diverse communities. I hope to grow up and be proud of the person who is working to achieve a role in the scientific community that is uniquely suited for me.
