Tapas Relia is a professional Music Composer/Producer based in Mumbai since 1996. He holds a composers certificate in “Classical Piano” of The Trinity College Of Music London. He also studied “Composing For Film & Multimedia” & “Advanced Computer Music Synthesis & Composition” in a special certificate Course in New York University, Manhattan He started off as an advertising music composer, spending the last decade scoring for hundreds of Television & Radio commercials for major brands & clients like IPL, Reliance, Tata, Unilever, Pepsi, Coke, Nike, Adidas, Lays, Polo, Cadbury, Dominos, Mc Donald's and many more. In 2005 he scored the music for India’s First Animation Film “Hanuman”, followed by the very popular sequel “Return Of Hanuman” in 2007 for which he won a “Golden Cursor Award for Best Music”. Both the films were produced by Mumbai based “Percept Picture Company”. In 2009 he scored the background music for the film “Fruit & Nut” starring Mahesh Manjrekar, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha & Diya Mirza. In 2010 he composed & produced 2 songs for acclaimed director Priyadarshan’s film “Bumm Bumm Bole” which was an official adaptation of Iranian director Majid Majidi’s film “Children Of Heaven” 2010 also saw him as an original score composer for a 3D Animation film titled “Toonpur Ka Superhero” starring Ajay Devgan & Kajol. It was produced by Eros International & directed by Kireet Khurana. In 2011 he gave the background music for the film “Kuch Love Jaisaa”, directed by Barnali Shukla & produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, starring Rahul Bose & Shefali Shah. October 2011 saw him as Music Director for Nagesh Kukunoor’s love story, Mod, whereon he composed 4 original songs and the background score. 2012 will see him as Music Director in Nagesh Kukunoor’s next and as Background Music Composer for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “Ferrari Ki Sawaari” directed my Rajesh Mapuskar. He works out of his own studio in Mumbai.
