Brian Tapfar

In the three months since I graduated from Davidson College I have moved back in with my parents (tacitly signing up for hours of yardwork to "pay my keep"), learned the true meaning of a budget, and began working on the US Open Social Media Team. Unfortunately, the latter has an experiation date of September 11, but that first one seems to be dragging on forever.

My experiences as a summer intern for places like MTV, Foundations Artist Management, and Primary Wave Music Publishing have made it clear to me that I want to work in music. The passion and excitement that music has the power to invoke makes it an inherently social phenomenon, leading me to become interested in more formal uses for social media, going beyond simply commenting on my friends' embarassing photos.

I've created this about.me page as part of my effort to start a career that would ideally incorporate these two passions, though the equally important effort to move out of my childhood home means that I would consider a job even if it didn't perfectly fit this ideal.
