Tara Underwood
Tara Underwood
My name is Tara and I am on my journey to becoming a professional librarian! Most people would not expect one to dream, desire, crave, love (the list goes on) of becoming a librarian. You could say this obsession started when I was younger and would read five books at once, yes this really did happen-just ask my mother, but recently during my undergraduate study at Salisbury University, I fell in love with research and information. Hence why I am about to start my master's program at the University of Maryland for...library science.
For four years I worked as a student assistant in the government documents department at Blackwell Library. Now, I am a library assistant in the Somerset County Library. As you can tell I've only just begun my work and career in libraries but am ecstatic to REALLY see my career take off in the next three years.
About this blog:
I want to inform other librarians and web surfers of the importance of still needing libraries. I believe we all live in an age where knowing how to find information and use that information correctly is so vital. Many students need to understand how to research and properly find what they are looking for. Sadly, many students and even adults do not understand where to even begin looking! Librarians exist to help inform others. I have a desire to help others and bring my undergraduate degree of communication arts and writing into the librarian profession.
This blog will serve you all with a chance to see who Tara Underwood really is and what she is passionate about when it comes to libraries and being a librarian.
...enjoy reading!
