Tara Culton, R-CPRS

Registered Certified Peer Recovery Specialist

Tara L. Culton is a transformational speaker, author, clergywoman, and suicide attempt survivor who is a mental health and wellness advocate. She lives by her mantra, “Mental health illness. It’s a disease...NOT a shame.”

As a trained, Registered Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (R-CPRS) and Emotional CPR (eCPR) educator, she helps individuals identify their immediate challenges and connect with resources to support their recovery journey. She also volunteers with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), serving as an In Our Own Voice Presenter, a Peer-to-Peer Course Educator, and a Connections Recovery Support Group Leader. Additionally, she is a Mental Health of Virginia Warmline Operator, providing callers with a safe space to talk and gain insight as they navigate their mental health journey.

Tara created Talks with T: Rebuilding Mindsets One Healing Conversation at a Time (TWT). Through TWT, she supports, educates, and advocates for those with or affected by mental health conditions by providing activities, events, collaborations, and more. Through TWT, she engages people in courageous and healing conversations about mental health and wellness, exploring their practical and spiritual impact on their lives.

Tara uses her administrative talents via Virtual Solutions with TLC (VSWTLC). Through VSWTLC, she helps female, faith-based, service-focused entrepreneurs by offering copywriting, graphic design, email automation, author support, consulting, and other services. This work allows them to amplify their message and reduce their stress.

Connect with her if you need an engaging speaker or facilitator on topics such as mental health, resilience, and spiritual growth. She believes everyone can “outlive the lie” that mental health conditions limit their potential and, in doing so, achieve the high-rise life they deserve.

Tara is a mother to one son and “Gammy Girl” to two granddaughters, whom she calls her “Heartbeats.”
