From a multi-divorced, mother of 5 on food stamps, to an internationally recognized, award winning CEO and regulatory law expert running a niche safety services company, life has been a journey. In 2008, Hurricane Ike took my roof, collapsed the ceilings, and had its way with everything I owned. Months later, I discovered beloved insiders had embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars and more. The next 5 years were a war zone, fighting to save my life's work and rebuild my business. With the help of loyal champions, it happened...the business came back.

There was only one problem...5 years of fighting had taken its toll on my health.

That's when the journey that led me here began. One of my employees stumbled onto FMTV and "rebooted with Joe" (Joe Cross of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary fame). He went on a 30-day juice fast/juice feast and turned his health around. I followed him through the portal to the world of GMO's, organics, juicing, Jon Gabriel, and so much more. I began to rebuild my health the way I had rebuilt my business. I discovered regulations were designed to inhibit the holistic wellness movement but, against all odds, it’s flourishing. I decided I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to share my knowledge of holistic health acquired over many years to help others. Further, I wanted to help the movement by connecting people in my community, Houston---who were searching for resources to support sustainable health---to the wonderful warriors blazing a new path for wellness...from the wheat grass guy, to organic chickens, to holistic doctors, to organic juice bars, to vegan bakeries, and so much more.

Mayberry Mavens embraces this dream.
