Having long committed herself to active involvement in philanthropic causes, Colleyville, Texas, resident and stay-at-home mom Tara Mauney is recognized as an asset to her community. A supporter of the Salvation Army and Colleyville's local homeless shelter ministries, Tara Mauney cares particularly for the wellbeing of children and their education. As such, she not only advocates and participates in the local PTA, but she has also been recognized by the Grapevine Colleyville Independent School District for an endowment donation.

Also known for offering her time, resources, and residence so that young adults have a safe place in which to socialize, Tara Mauney has hosted a number of community events. At her annual Back-to-School Bash, she opens her home to children from as many as 60 families. An active member of the Potter's House, a nondenominational church based in Dallas, Ms. Mauney has also served as a co-chaperone to 30 teenage girls attending a Christian camp retreat involving outdoor activities.

Currently enrolled at Southern Methodist University to pursue her love of art appreciation, Tara Mauney also has a wide variety of hobbies. Particularly fond of craftwork, she creates personalized decorative keepsake pillowcases for her daughter's friends and their families. Also an avid cook, she prepares such specialties as "Ooey-Gooey Butter Cake," a family recipe handed down from her Irish immigrant great-grandmother, and her award-winning "Sonic Chili," which earned first place at a local cook-off competition. A football enthusiast as well, Ms. Mauney supports the Dallas Cowboys.
