Korean Studies major at Leiden University and writer for Beyond Hallyu. Particularly interested in matters of identity and gender both from a historical perspective and within the present-day Republic of Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Manchuria.
Other interests include but are not limited to human rights activism, visual art and media, Korean and Japanese pop culture, creative writing, reading, discussion and language learning.
I have been learning Korean for two and a half years as a compulsory part of my studies and am currently working on a novel set in the South Korean entertainment industry.
