Tara C. Wright
Bay Area, California
I am a Bay Area native, born in Northern California to British parents, which means my bad English teeth were fixed by good American orthodontics. I write, produce, and finesse all sorts of content as a web content manager. I love words and the power of storytelling, but like most content writing these days, that content must be presented in ever-evolving ways. What does this mean? I don't just write; I design, I strategize, I build. And then I look to see how it all worked, using data and statistics.
I started a lifestyle blog, dumpyourfrump.com to teach myself a bit about building a brand first-hand and about the power of micro-content, well thought out blog posts, and carefully researched instructional content. I love the thrill of working at a start-up, and have worked at a few and enjoyed wearing many hats. Now I am at Stanford University, creating and managing content for the MBA Program. I write, albeit occasionally, on my blog daysatknight.com, where I post goings-on at Stanford University, as well as the occasional vintage photo or ephemera dug up from the rich Stanford archives.
I have three children who were all born at 37 minutes past the hour. If I were better at math, I might tell you the chances of this happening, but I am not. I am also a court appointed special advocate (or CASA) for minor children in the family court system of San Mateo County. I enjoy writing short stories and my stories have been published or won prizes in Fiction Attic Press, Indiana Review, Palo Alto Weekly, Missouri Review, ZYZZYVA and Zoetrope All-Story Extra.
