Tariq Rashid

strategy, Technology, and Digital in England, United Kingdom

I'm a reformer. I enjoy the challenge of fixing how we do stuff - security, digital services, commercial, education and technology - especially by designing it to be more human.

And I love advocating new ways of working, to huge audiences wherever possible!

I love open source, and I love being active in the open community. I led the London Python meetup community, doubling membership to over 4000 members. Teaching people, including children, to do things they couldn't is really satisfying.

I founded the Algorithmic Art meetup, growing it to over 3000 members in 2 years, meeting every month in London and Cornwall, reaching non-technical communities too.

I'm formally qualified as a data scientist, enjoy speaking and teaching machine learning and AI, and have an Amazon #1 best seller on neural networks.

I am developing the Data Science Cornwall community and run a popular monthly kids code club.

Having recently published books on algorithmic art, including a creative coding course designed for children, I'm now working on my next book on text mining.

I've just been awarded a short research fellowship to explore artificial emotional intelligence.

I also love tango, flamenco, photography, science, martial arts ...
