Hi everyone!
As you can see, my name is Tarryen Ramathan, I am a student currently studying at the University of Cape Town. I am a Humanties Student doing my majors in English, Film and Media with the hopes of one day becoming a world renowned Fashion journalist for a leading fashion magazine. I have an extreme passion and love for fashion, which has lead to me trying to involve myself in the industry by any means necessary whether it be buying and collecting the latest fashion magazines such as Vogue (the U.S, U.K and French issues) and Harper's Bazaar, watching every episode of Fashion Police or just simply liking a Facebook page dedicated to fashion.
Something that I have been looking into recently, due to a course of mine at university, is blogging. Fashion blogging has become a major craze throughout the world and has become the quickest, easiest way to get fashion updates on the latest looks and trends. As part of my course, I have set up my own fashion blog, which deals with the role of fashion in South Africa, South African designers and compares to South African Fashion to what is seen on the international fashion scene. I believe that South Africa has a great deal of potential in all aspects with fashion being one I feel is significantly overlooked. South Africa is still new to the international fashion scene but this isn't to say that local fashion hasn't been recognised internationally. South Africa still has a long way to go in terms of establishing itself as a fashion nation internationally but given time I think we will make it just fine. Watch the space. . .
