The vast recesses of my own mind

Professionally trained oil-painter, craft-queen, jewelry making wanna-be guru, amateur origami master, photo-realist portrait drawer, scrap-booker, crochet novice, painter of murals, occasional designer of t-shirts, mom of 3 awesome kids, wife of 17 years, daughter of Italian & Slavic heritage, loyal friend, and sleep deprived night owl. I love making and creating! Lately I've been creating large photo-realistic graphite and color pencil portraits. I'm originally an oil painter, with my BFA in Drawing and Painting from University of Georgia. I also make re-purposed jewelry from vintage silver-plated forks and spoons. I have a Master's degree in Art Education, but only taught for a couple of years. Most of my experience is with oils and acrylics. I've dabbled in ceramics, enjoy origami and taught myself to crochet! But drawing with a plain old pencil... heaven! Ever since I was a little kid I've loved to draw and knew I wanted to be an artist! Pencils, pens, markers, gel pens, color pencils, even crayons make me a very happy person! I've always enjoyed music, especially being a teenager in the 80's and a college student in the 90's. Sometime while starting my career and family I lost music... no real time for exploring new music or anything other than Barney and Teletubbies... Now that the kids are older, I've rediscovered music! Old tunes and new sounds! U2, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Bob Marley, Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine, Greenday! And thanks to my teenage daughter: Sleeping with Sirens, Fall Out Boy, Pierce the Veil, and My Chemical Romance, just to name a few! I've REALLY been enjoying music with my art.
