Hi, I’m Chris, Just an average guy but with a true passion for food – I love to cook, feed, eat and drink coffee! My friends say that if not cooking food then I’m talking about food or planning the next meal. That’s just me. I come from London where I studied at Leith’s School of Food and Wine. It was that training that really started to enrich my enjoyment and pallet for food, cooking and home entertaining. I am now cooking from my little kitchen in the Dominican Republic, adding a tropical flavour to many recipes, where I publish many of them in my food magazine TASTE.RD
In this Food Blog you’ll find me cooking up a storm: A lot of comfort foods stepped up a bit, dishes inspired by our favourite chefs or restaurants, things like bread and cakes made entirely from scratch and tutorials on everything from how to poach an egg, to how to make tart dough that don’t shrink up on you, or just cooking up whatever is in the fridge. And, who doesn’t love a good burger? Well, if so you will also find some ‘naughty but nice’ home made burger recipes with all the trimmings. There are cooks who actually clean as they go, but I prefer to leave behind a bombed-out mess of dishes and a thin film of flour behind in my cooking wake.
I love all food, so it’d be hard for me to choose a favourite, but I have a soft spot breakfast foods. A runny poached goes so well with so many ingredients but especially with bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms – does it sound like I miss an English breakfast! I also love spicy foods, Indian andThai curries are up there with my favourites alongside good homemade cakes and a strong coffee.
Thanks for dropping by, please enjoy!
