As a holistic educator deeply rooted in child development and whole-brain education, I believe in the intrinsic value of creating joyful, meaningful experiences and cultivating deep relationships with students. I bring over 12 years of classroom experience and more than 15 years of working with children across various age groups, from preschool through high school.
My journey has taken me from the traditional classroom to the university level, where I had the privilege of teaching at Mills College, and to the nonprofit sector, where I helped manage a Montessori school in Sonoma, California. I’ve also worked as Spanish Teacher, most recently with Friends School in Boulder, Colorado, where I’ve had the privilege of sharing my Cuban and Spanish culture with students, further enriching their educational experience.
My passion for holistic education extends beyond the confines of traditional academics; I embrace outdoor and experiential learning, recognizing the profound impact it has on a child's development. I founded the Marin Free Forest School chapter.
At the core of my philosophy is the belief in the intrinsic joy of childhood. I am committed to preserving and nurturing this joy in every child I encounter. Through mindfulness-based practices and my certification as a 200hr yoga teacher, I incorporate techniques to foster emotional well-being and self-awareness in my students.
In all my endeavors, whether in the classroom or beyond, I strive to create environments where children can explore, learn, and flourish holistically, honoring their unique talents and interests while instilling a love for lifelong learning.
