Dawn Grace

Chicago, Illinois, United States

I am a professional tattoo artist of over 16 years, located in Chicago, Illinois. I work by appointment only in a private studio.

I served a traditional 2-year apprenticeship with Cap Szumski at Timeless Tattoo in Atlanta, GA.

I specialize in intricate work, flowing designs that follow the body's natural contours, cover-ups and reworks.

I also do 3D-style nipple/areola tattooing for cancer survivors. Should survivors desire a beautiful flowing piece of art that covers or works with the scars, I can do that as well!

I was trained to be versatile and am able to tackle any subject matter, style, and level of difficulty.

I am not a size-queen, I don't believe the cliché of "go big or go home". I enjoy doing small tattoos as much as the big ones.

You don't have to audition to get tattooed by me, you just have to make an appointment and be patient until it's our time together.

I'm brutally honest, and if I feel a piece isn't going to work well, or hold up reasonably, or any other reason, I will be upfront about it.

While I do NOT practice the "I only do MY style" version of tattooing (ALL KINDS is my style!), if I feel your piece would be better done by one of my colleagues, I will be honest with you and let you know why, and will give you their contact information. Professional tattooers do this more than you think, and it's not because we are lazy, it's because we want you to have your BEST tattoo!

I use only the highest quality equipment available. Anything than can be single use, including ink, needles, tubes, Vaseline, etc is sterilized prior to use and disposed of properly after our session is complete. Nothing gets reused, ever.

The equipment tray with the tools and products used for your tattoo is set up in front of you, so that you may be assured that everything is sterilized and single-use.

I offer aftercare suggestions three different ways and hope at least some of it stays with you. I give it verbally, written down, and on my website. I am also always available should any concerns arise during healing.

I guarantee my work and want all of my clients to be thrilled with my work. If you suffer a little pigment loss during healing, a touch up is included within a year of our initial date.
